When changing over a bottle of gas, we recommend that you "crack" the new bottle first, before connecting it up.

Dust and dirt can get trapped in the gas bottle's outlet during transportation and storage. If you connect up your regulator and turn on the gas, we've found that this dirt can get blown into the gas system of your Bangalore, giving misfires.

Before "cracking" the bottle, make sure that no one is smoking and that there are no other sources of ignition nearby.

Make sure the regulator isn't connected.

Open the bottle's valve slightly to blow some gas out. then close it immediately. This blows out dust or dirt from the valve outlet.

Use two hands on the valve and stand at the side of the valve - never stand directly in front of or behind the valve outlet.

With the new bottle "cracked", you can now attach the regulator and start using it.

Note: please only use propane gas to power your Bangalore bird scarer. See "What type of gas should I use to power my Bangalore?" for more information.
